Thread: FIFA Street Online Team Play...

... is a fail.

I say this, not because it's unenjoyable to play, because it's actually quite good fun.

I say it, because you CANNOT invite friends to play against random players/teams online. The only way you can play with friends against unknown players, is for you and them to search for a ranked online team play match at the same time and hope you all go into the same lobby.

For me, this is one massive mistake because I know many of us were looking forward to playing some 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 games and taking on some other unknown teams and players. It's also what you really expect in a FIFA game online now.

You can invite friends for online team play matches if you are playing against other friends. Up to 8 friends can all be in a Player Match lobby, so you can do up to 4v4 there. I can't see this being used as much though. Most people want to team up with their friends and play against people they don't know.

The online modes in this game remind me of Grand Slam Tennis 2.  Just not what you expect of a game these days.

On a positive note, at least with the friends lobby it would mean we can still organise 2v2 tournaments here on FIFA Gamer. We'd add each other to our friends lists anyway, so getting those games setup shouldn't be a problem.

Could not agree more. I really hope they add a feature for invites... but they never have had one before to my knowledge. Tonight was fun, after the 45 mins. of searching

Cancelled my order. Online is no fun at all.

Lack of game modes and options kills it. I wanted to be doing rainbow flicks with Grant Holt online. 

Wow, that's a huge fail from EA. From not being able to use real teams online and now this. I was unsure whether to buy this game or not, now I'm certain I won't 

What a joke having to all just search and hope you get matched together. 

Can't even use proper teams online either. I mean come on, that is just ridiculous.

Also as @Jas said on Twitter, they have this obsession with Virtual Pro's now, when it would be nice on this game to get away from that and use proper players & teams online instead. Sick of seeing these stupid circus freak VP's everywhere.

I might buy it for the reason i ended up buying Fifa Street 3 years after it come out, for trophies! though i'm not really big on that anymore. 

I just hate when you get hyped up for something and even after the demo, feel great about it then it fails you at the last hurdle..

Until there's a mode which allows people to invite friends before going into a match there will never be an organised feel to it.

Its like Pro Ranked matches on FIFA. Absolutely disastrous in every way 

If people arn't quick enough and dont get to the Striker positions, they will simply pick to play in defence, and then once the game starts they all just run upfront leaving both teams without any defenders. 

I always play CB and enjoy stopping the idiot strikers with silly Afro's scoring.
